In recent conferences, the editors have dealt extensively with the new external influences on the waste and energy industry, which particularly affect or will increasingly affect the thermal waste treatment industry.

These have included
  • Topics such as taxonomy,
  • carbon management,
  • emissions trading,
  • sector coupling,
  • IED amendment,
  • BAT conclusions.

Furthermore, Waste Management and Energy, Volume 2 looks at the future of TAB from the different perspectives of various stakeholders.

The aim of the editors was and is to sensitize congress participants and readers to important developments as early as possible and to provide impetus for decisions.

Waste Management and Energy, Volume 2 focuses in particular on the specific problems of carbon dioxide capture and the further handling of CO2. The technologies are known in principle, but new ground is being broken here in terms of large-scale technology.

The English abstracts are now also published in wtert.net. We start with the contribution by Prof. Karpf and Sophie Kreuz.
