EEC|CCNY

To all of our supporters and collaborators,

The Earth Engineering Center|CCNY wishes you a very peaceful Holiday and productive 2024. We hope this greeting finds you and your family and friends peaceful and healthy.

Although there were some adjustments, here at EEC|CCNY we had very productive year. The publishing of 11 peer-reviewed papers with several of our collaborators and nearly a dozen presentations at domestic and international conferences. We had two of our students complete a research stay at our international collaborators and welcomed researchers from Italy and Brazil. Finally we say goodbye to our Associate Director & CCL Post-doc, Dr. Snehesh Ail. After nearly 5 years, Dr. Ail has moved to a position in private industry focusing on developing gasification technologies.

Following the 2021 EEC|CCNY/WTERT symposium, where the President of CCNY, Dr. Vincent Boudreau, opened up the proceedings for plenary speakers Doug Wicks (US Department of of Energy ARPA-E), David Biederman (SWANA), and Michael Van Brunt (Covanta) and was attended by nearly 60 participants representing 8 countries, we will be preparing for our 2023 meeting in October.

We look forward to another year of vigorous activity with current and, hopefully, new collaborators and sponsors. We continue to advance methodologies and technology for the sustainable management of waste and are optimistic that more traction will be gained in 2024.

Please keep in touch, check our website (ccnyeec.org) often for updates, and enjoy this time with your family and friends!
Best wishes,
Marco J Castaldi
Director, EEC|CCNY - WTERT|US
